Ministry of Health (MOH)

After some years of silence, in year 1381 (2002), some activities were began about giving information and controlling HIV virus by the ministry of health, cure and medical education, which the important ones are, legislation of 5-year program on controlling spread of HIV and AIDS in Iran.

Some of the activities which were done by AIDS office in center of management of diseases in ministry of health are:

1. Accumulating information and statistics related to spread of HIV virus and population of people living with HIV/AIDS.
2. Making AIDS councils (triangle clinics) all over the country.
3. Public awareness and managing educational sessions for those who are working in health and treatment sections.
4. Related Congresses, seminars, conferences like managing world aids day celebration.
5. Preparing anti viruses medicines for people living with HIV/AIDS, also helping drug addicts use methadone, especially for those who got HIV virus from shared-needles when having drug injections.
6. Attending in related international conferences.

Islamic republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB)

In last two years IRIB had a lot of activities with the educational and information regarding prevention of HIV and AIDS. Some of the activities are:

• A 13-episodes talk show about AIDS
• Media Roles seminar on education and prevention of AIDS disease held in IRIB Organization.
• Wide media coverage on World AIDS Day by showing related TV ads.
• Radio programs about AIDS with HIV/AIDS experts.
